What we cover

Pest problems we help with

Not sure what you've got? Describe what you're seeing and the technician will identify it on site.

European wasps

Canberra's worst seasonal pest. A steady stream of wasps in and out of a wall cavity, roof void or a hole in the lawn. Don't disturb it.

Cockroaches

Movement when you flick the kitchen light on, black specks behind the fridge or in cupboards.

Ants

Trails along the bench or skirting, nests in the garden beds, sudden swarms after rain.

Spiders

Webs under the eaves, huntsmen indoors, redbacks around sheds, pots and outdoor furniture.

Rats & mice

Scratching in the roof at night, droppings in the pantry, chewed cables. Worst as Canberra cools off and they move indoors.

Fleas

Bites around the ankles, a pet that won't stop scratching, worse after a holiday or a new pet.

Bed bugs

Bites in a line, dark specks along mattress seams. Usually after travel or a second-hand bed. Expect 2–3 visits.

Silverfish

Book, paper and fabric damage in wardrobes, linen cupboards and storage boxes.

Carpet moths

Bare patches in the carpet along skirtings and under furniture, with small gold-brown moths nearby. Expect 2–3 treatments.

General pest inspection

Moving in, selling, or just want peace of mind? A technician checks the usual problem spots inside and out and tells you what, if anything, needs treating.

European wasps: what Canberrans should know

If the nest is on public land (a verge, a park, a reserve), the ACT Government removes it free. Report it through the City Services online form or call Access Canberra on 13 22 81.

If it's on your own property, removal is your responsibility and needs a licensed pest controller. That's where we can help. Either way, don't disturb it: disturbed nests swarm.

End of lease and bond cleans

Moving out of a Canberra or Queanbeyan rental where pets have been kept? Many tenancy agreements require a professional flea treatment before you hand the keys back, and agents often ask to see a receipt.

Book it once the place is empty and the carpets are done, not before. Put your move-out date in the message box on the form, and ask the technician for a receipt in your name when the work is finished.

The process

How it works

Three steps, then it is in a technician's hands.

1

Tell us what's going on

Pick the pest, your postcode and how urgent it is. No long forms, no account to create.

2

We pass it to one local technician

Your job goes to one licensed technician who services your area.

3

You get a price, then decide

A licensed local pest control specialist will usually get in touch within one business day with a quote. If it suits, you book a time. If it doesn't, that's the end of it.

The difference

Why use us instead of guessing from Google

Choosing a pest controller is hard when every website says the same thing. Here's how this works.

  • Licensed technicians only — and you can check. Commercial pest control in the ACT requires an Environmental Authorisation, and authorised operators appear on Access Canberra's public register. Every technician we work with is licensed, and you don't have to take our word for it: ask whoever calls you for their authorisation number and check it with Access Canberra on 13 22 81 before any work starts. A technician who can't give you one is the one to walk away from.
  • One job, one technician. We're not a lead auction. Your job is passed on once, so you are not fielding calls from five companies that all bought the same enquiry.
  • Straight pricing. You get a quote before anyone turns up, not a number invented in your driveway.
  • Local only. Canberra and Queanbeyan postcodes only. If we can't cover your area, the form tells you straight away.
Before you book

Questions people ask

What does pest control cost?
You get a firm price up front, based on the property size, the pest and how bad the problem is — not a range. There's no call-out fee. If what the technician finds on site is different from what you described, they'll tell you before starting any work.
Is the technician actually licensed?
Yes. Commercial pest control in the ACT is regulated under the Environment Protection Act: operators must hold an Environmental Authorisation from the ACT EPA, and Access Canberra keeps a public register of authorised pest and weed control operators. In Queanbeyan and Googong, pest management technicians are licensed by the NSW EPA. We only work with licensed technicians.
Is it safe for kids and pets?
Pest treatments used in homes have to be registered with the APVMA for that use and applied according to the label — the label is where the safety precautions come from. The technician picks the product and is responsible for applying it correctly, so ask what they're using and what you need to do. Indoors that usually means keeping children and pets off treated areas until surfaces are dry. Fish tanks and bird cages need covering, so mention them when you book. If a technician can't answer those questions, that's a bad sign.
How quickly can someone come out?
A licensed local pest control specialist will usually get in touch within one business day to quote and arrange a time — often the same day if your request comes in during business hours. Flag it as urgent on the form if it's a wasp nest or rodents in the kitchen, so they know.
Do I need to leave the house during treatment?
For most internal treatments, yes, usually until everything's dry. External-only treatments generally don't require it. Check with your technician when you book so you can plan the day.
How long does a treatment last?
It depends on the pest, the weather and how close you are to bushland or water. Ask about warranty terms when you get your quote.
Do you handle termites?
Not at the moment. Termite work needs a specialist timber pest inspection and a management plan, and we're not currently taking termite jobs. If you suspect termites, don't disturb them (spraying a visible trail can scatter the colony) and book an inspection with a termite specialist.
Do you cover my suburb?
We cover Canberra and Queanbeyan: Belconnen, Gungahlin, the inner north and south, Woden, Weston Creek, Molonglo, Tuggeranong, and across the border into Queanbeyan and Googong. Enter your postcode in the form and it will tell you straight away if you're outside the area. We ask for your suburb too, because one postcode can cover both Queanbeyan and places well out of town.
I'm renting — can I book this?
You can request a quote, but pest treatment is generally the landlord's responsibility unless the tenant caused the problem — fleas from a pet being the common exception. Get it in writing from your agent before you book, or ask us to send the quote through so you can forward it on.
Do you do end of lease pest control?
Yes. The usual end of lease job is a flea treatment where pets have been kept, which many tenancy agreements require before you hand the keys back. Ask the technician for a receipt in your name — that is what the agent will want to see. Book it once the place is empty and the carpets have been cleaned, not before, and put your move-out date in the message box so the technician can work to it.
Why might I need more than one treatment?
Some pests cannot be cleared in a single visit, because their eggs survive it. German cockroaches, bed bugs and carpet moths usually need 2–3 treatments about a fortnight apart, so the newly hatched generation is caught before it breeds. Other pests — wasps, ants, spiders, rodents — are normally a single visit. The technician will tell you how many treatments they expect, and what each one costs, when they quote.
Is the quote really free?
Yes. There's no call-out fee to give you a price and no obligation to book. We're paid by the technician when we pass them your job — never by you, and whether or not you decide to book. If the quote isn't for you, tell the technician and that's the end of it.
What do I need to do before the technician arrives?
Clear benches and cupboard fronts, move pet bowls and toys, cover fish tanks, and vacuum if you're being treated for fleas. Ask your technician if there's anything else for your particular treatment.

It costs nothing to find out, and you get a real price for your property rather than a range. Then you decide.
